Able (to)

Adjective (usually followed by "to")

1. Having the necessary means, skill, know-how, or authority to do something

2. Having strong or unusual powers of mind or intellectual qualifications

3. Having competent strength or fortitude

4. Having competent moral power or qualifications

5. Having sufficient knowledge or skill

The LORD God Almighty says of me,
says of you,

"You are able for The Spirit of The Holy God is in you."
(Daniel 4:18b)

Because of the Spirit of God making me able,  I stepped out and did what I never thought I could or would ever want to do.

I ate at a restaurant. ALONE. Hallelujah!

What is something you thought you never could or would do but The Spirit of God gave you the courage or power to do?  Please share.  Let's give Him glory!

Because of Him and Unto Him,

Good morning "able" Diane! I am starting to share past with it's secrets and sins, as a testimony. It is hard, but worth it. It has held me captive for far too long. I love you and celebrate your milestones, Mel XO

Love that word! He gives me strength which is might and inflexibility to temptation! I am not a licensed dental professional. I let my assisting license lapse years ago when I went gung-ho as a Practice Management consultant. That type of work has its drawbacks because you never know where your clients will be. Often I would have to drive long distances to do my work. Having moved to a more rural area several years ago, it struck me that there were no inexpensive schools to train assisting and hands-on job skills for that profession. I was able to launch a small school, which has helped many. These types of schools are owned and operated by Dentists, and a very few by dental assistants. Technically, I should not be able to pull this off but God showed me to go ahead. Not to say it's always easy - it isn't but His ability has become mine! I am able to continue on and to trust him as we enter into the lives of the students who come to us. Some have been born again and others encouraged and helped spiritually.

Praise be to God that you were able to do that!
Actually it is a matter of practice. I do it sometimes when ai am hungry and does not have energy to cook food at home and my husband is onbord the ship. Eat alone in the restaurant and have a nice time for myself.
I am always alone, but enjoying reading, doing handcrafts, blogging and fellowshipping with God:)

Hi Joy, thanks for sharing. Hopefully, one day, I will be as comfortable with eating out alone as you are. It's encouraging to me. Thank you.

Thanks for sharing Diane, encouraging to read your steps of faith in such practical matters. Your courage is building every time you step out. The Lord was your table mate, best date in the world, He never stands up a daughter.

I am so PROUD of you and want to let you know how much one word can mean to others---as you cherish the joy of knowing you are ABLE to step through the doors of a restaurant alone, and enjoy your meal. Today I find myself grabbing hold of your word--ABLE--because I am needing to know that in the midst of such wicked Chronic Pain, I am ABLE to keep going, by HIS grace and Love. As I lay on the Doctor's Table this morning, too many sleepless nights showing on my face-I was no longer ABLE to hold back tears of complete exhaustion.

GOD has blessed me with a wise, spiritual Doctor who gave me assuring words that I will slowly begin to feel better. The extra special BLESSING was in seeing your word-- ABLE--and it gives me that extra BOOST!! So thank you Diane--we find as life throws so much at us, that by HIS grace, we are surely ABLE to do many things.....

My Martha, I was hoping you would share how God makes you ABLE to go day after day after day in such excruciating pain. Thank you so much.

YOU are such an inspiration to all who know you. If ever there is someone who this Scripture exemplifies, it's you.

If you can get through one more day, then I can certainly eat at a restaurant alone. Gosh! My victories are so trivial compared to you making it through one more hour.

I put my hand over my heart to you.

Betty, I laughed at your words, "He never stands up a daughter". He was my Tablemate. Thanks, Betty!

the image of "your hand placed gently across your Heart" touches me in ways I can't begin to describe!!

We all have our battles to face and being ABLE to get through them, no matter how LONG the day might seem to be will bring us JOY. I am so humbled by your words of Praise and my dear friend--please know this ~Every single VICTORY you are achieving, makes my heart SING with JOY!!!!
